Coles Group (formerly Coles Myer) is a top dingo among Australian retailers. The group is one of Australia's largest retailers with more than 2,900 stores (Bi-Lo and Coles, liquor, and convenience stores) throughout Australia and New Zealand. Coles also sells apparel and general merchandise through 540-plus Target, Kmart, and Officeworks stores. (Coles holds the rights from Kmart and Target to use those banners in Australia and New Zealand).

With over 350,000 shareholders, more than 165,000 employees, millions of customers and a store in just about every town, the group consider itself as a part of the fabric of Australian communities.

Coles sold its Myer department store chain in mid-2006. The company changed its name in late 2006 to Coles Group Ltd. to reflect the Myer sale. Coles Group has agreed to be acquired by the Perth-based conglomerate Wesfarmers Ltd. for about US $18 billion.

The group’s sales reached US $ 26 (EUR 20) billion in 2006.
