The ECR Forum & Marketplace is the annual ECR event where all involved companies meet together in an always different European city. We already went to Brussels, Paris, Milan, Stockholm and this year we will be in Berlin, at the International Congress Centre from May 27-29, 2008.
This is the biggest event in Europe for top managers in the retailing and FMCG industry. The accompanying Marketplace has grown steadily over the years to more than 5500m², including a wide range of Consulting companies and IT & Solution Providers.
Value. We use the word all the time. But what do we mean by it, and how does it apply it to the process of shopping? And once we have defined what shopping value is, how do we maintain and improve it for the benefit of consumers?
In Berlin, leading experts in the Fast Moving Consumer Goods Industry will be answering these questions and examining just how the industry needs to improve its service to, and relationship with, the people who matter most – shoppers.
Creating sustainable shopping value… In a sense it is a return to the basic ECR principle of fulfilling consumer wishes better, faster and at less cost. It also marks a return after five years to the International Congress Center in Berlin, one of Europe’s best convention centers and the location in 2003 of one of ECR Europe’s most vibrant and popular conferences.

Alongside the ‘classic’ Plenary and Breakout Sessions, the Crash Courses and Debating Sessions will be back for Berlin, but with improvements to take into account your feedback from last year. The Crash Courses for example will be more clearly focused on junior managers. And we are looking at restricting the number of pre-registered delegates taking the floor at Debating Sessions in order to have a more lively debate, but at the same time allowing more people to attend and interact with the main speakers.
You can also expect to see slightly fewer but more detailed cases presented in some of the Breakout Sessions on some emerging subjects. And expect to see even more top-ranking CEO's on the platform and taking part in the discussions.
