Suntory

Head office: Japan

Suntory Ltd., established in 1899, is the company that produced Japan's first whiskey. Hibiki, Kakubin, and Old are some of the Japanese whiskies that Suntory says are especially made to go with Japanese cuisine. Suntory makes Midori melon liqueur, Malt's and Suntory beer, Noble d'Or wine, and nonalcoholic drinks.

Suntory is organized into three operating companies — the Beverage and Food Company, Spirits, Wine and Beer Company and Food Service and Business Development Company — each representing a separate business unit in accordance with the business model.
Although the three companies maintain a close, synergistic relationship with one another, each operates independently with support from the business support divisions, taking full responsibility for its own overall business management, both in Japan and overseas.

Suntory complements its domestic products by importing more than 1,500 wines, 100 spirits (such as Brown-Forman's Jack Daniels and Kahlua), and Carlsberg beer. Like other Japanese brewers, Suntory is seeing growth in low-alcohol brews. Suntory Limited is part of the Suntory Group.
