Asahi Breweries, Ltd. is a Japan-based alcohol manufacturer. The Alcohol segment manufactures and sells beer and sparkling liquor, as well as sells wine and distilled spirits. It is also engaged in the manufacture and repair of alcohol storage barrels, the manufacture, sale and maintenance of alcohol sales facilities, as well as the overseas sale of beer. The Beverage segment manufactures and sells various drinks, such as coffee, tea, carbonated drinks, health drinks, fruit juice and mineral water. It also operates vending machines for its drinks.
The Food and Medical Product segment manufactures, processes and sells food and medical products, including digestive medicines, drugs for fever, coughing and sore throat, beer yeast and other supplements. The Others segment manages buildings, manufactures and sells malts, operates beer halls and restaurants and offers transportation and warehousing services, among others.
The 2006 revenue of the company was JPY 1,446 (EUR 9.2) billion, from which JPY 1,007 (EUR 6.4) billion was for alcoholic beverages sales.
