Coop Denmark boosts Fakta chain

Coop Denmark’s discount chain Fakta plans to open 70 new stores by 2008, according to Fakta managing director Claus Jensen.

Jensen said Fakta aims to build a 400-store network and generate a turnover of 10 billion Danish crowns (€1.34 billion) within two years. Fakta will open 25 new stores this year to become Denmark’s largest discount supermarket chain, just ahead by current leader Netto. Jensen said Fakta’s strategy will focus on boosting store and customer services and offer high quality products at attractive prices.
