Spartan Stores now sell pet insurance
Spartan Stores have put pet insurance on their shelves. The 10th largest grocery distributor in the US has signed an agreement with PetFirst Healthcare to offer pet insurance on the shelves and at the checkout lanes of Spartan grocery stores throughout Michigan.
The insurance will be offered at 35 of its Family Fare and D&W Fresh Market locations. Spartan Stores, based in Grand Rapids, Michigan, owns and operates 102 supermarkets and drugstores in Michigan and Ohio under the D&W Fresh Markets, Family Fare Supermarkets, Felpausch Food Centers, Glen’s Markets, and The Pharm banners.
Spartan Stores is not the first retailer who put the pet insurance on the shelves. Kroger, the nation's largest traditional grocery chain with 2,500 stores, sells pet insurance since last summer.
