Caprabo founders to retain minority stake
The founding families of the Caprabo supermarket group plan to retain a minority stake following its sale next month and have valued the company at €1.5bn. The Spanish financial newspaper Cinco Dias reported, citing unnamed sources close to the deal.

Five finalists are in the running to buy the Catalan group: Carrefour, Eroski, El Arbol, Permira and Auchan. The three founding families of the Spanish retailer Caprabo – Carbo, Botet and Elias – control 80 per cent of the company, while bank La Caixa holds the remaining 20 per cent. Cinco Dias said the savings bank is likely to sell its stake which it acquired in 2003.
