Eroski and Permira to battle for Caprabo
Private equity firm Permira and Spanish supermarket chain Grupo Eroski are seen as the favourites in the auction of Spanish supermarket chain Caprabo, according to Spanish news agency Efe, citing financial sources familiar with the situation. It said Caprabo’s price tag ranges between € 800m and €1.0bn.
More than four non-binding offers, including those by Carrefour and Auchan, were shortlisted in April out of a pool of 15 offers. Final bids for Caprabo are due by the end of May.
