Nestlé posts hefty profit growth in 2005
Nestlé has posted a 20.7 per cent growth in net profit for 2005 to 8 billion Swiss francs (US$6.134 billion) with sales growing by 7.5 per cent to 91.1 billion Swiss francs.Organic growth grew 6.2 per cent with group EBITA up by 8.9 per cent to 11.72 billon Swiss francs. But Nestlé added that rising oil prices would raise its energy and packaging costs. Nestlé's operating cash flow stood at 10.2 billion francs while group net debt slightly dropped from10.2 billion to 9.6 billion francs. “The 2005 results demonstrate the strength of the Nestlé Model,” said chairman and CEO Peter Brabeck-Letmathe. “We have outperformed the market in growth and have again delivered an improvement in EBITA margin.”
