Pricer to implement ESL in Casino stores
A typical supermarket chain manually changes thousands of paper labels each week, which can cost more than €60,000 per store per year in labor. The Casino Group has selected the Swedish company, Pricer, to be the sole supplier provider of electronic shelf labels (ESL) and support services for the next two years.
ESL tags save 15 to 20 man-hours per week in labour costs in each store, or 780 to 1,040 man-hours per year. Since 2002, over 6,500,000 ESLs have been implemented in Casino stores across 110 hypermarkets and 300 supermarkets.
Casino will begin modernising and upgrading existing installations as well as extending ESL into new store areas and new stores within the group. Pricer and Casino will also collaborate strategically to develop new ESL concepts and functionalities.
