Marks & Spencer launches restaurant in Dubai
Marks & Spencer, the British food retailer, and member of the Al-Futtaim Group of companies, has launched a new restaurant at its Dubai Festival City store. Nigel Rea, general manager for Marks & Spencer UAE, said the move comes as part of a concerted effort to provide the best shopping environment for customers.
The eatery, called "The Lounge" offers shoppers the option of al fresco dining on the balcony or inside the restaurant, reminiscent of "a colonial-style teahouse...with traditionally home cooked dishes." New York-based interior designer Yabu Pushelberg provided the concept for the restaurant, creating "a secluded haven away from the hustle and bustle" on the first floor of the 6000 m² store, using calm, muted colour schemes.
The all-day menu includes organic produce, and offers light and nutritious snacks, wraps and salads. The special children's menu focuses on traditional British favourites including boiled egg with soldiers and fish fingers.
