Eroski installs ESLs in its hypermarkets
Spain’s second largest retailer, Eroski, has placed an order for over 100,000 electronic shelf labels (ESL) to be installed in four of its hypermarkets within the next three months. The order is likely to be extended to a minimum of six hypermarkets by the end of the year, according to the supplier, Pricer of Sweden. The order will be deployed by Pricer’s partner, Versia Soluciones.
“We are quite confident that with these installations, the entire Eroski organisation will at the end of 2008 understand the value price flexibility, stock management and new display technologies,” said Oron Branitzky, vice president sales for Pricer.
Pricer has already installed over 2 million ESLs in Spain, for companies such as Carrefour, Cepsa and Metro (Makro). “We are also running pilot installations with several other chains where scalability and bandwidth are the foundations of the evaluations,” said Branitzky.
Pricer's ESL platform is based on a two-way communication protocol to ensure a complete traceability and management of resources.
