Metrologic Instruments recently won a major order to supply 1,300 MS2220 StratosS 5-sided bi-optic scanner/scale solution units to Tesco in Central Europe. Partnering with Metrologic is NOVUM SRO, the exclusive regional distributor of the DIGI scale manufactured by Teraoka Seiko of Japan.The 1,300 units will be installed as part of a national refit of all Tesco stores in Slovakia and the Czech Republic. Additional StratosS scanner/scale units will also be supplied to all new Tesco stores opening across Central Europe, including new stores in the Czech Republic, Poland, Hungary and Slovakia, over the next four years. “The installation of the StratosS provides a state–of-the-art, high volume checkout solution which will greatly enhance the productivity of our checkout operators and reduce waiting times for our customers.
