Ongoing expansion of print portfolio

The Wipak Group has recently acquired three companies, resulting in three new production sites and a further integration of the companies within the Group, whilst still maintaining a decentralised structure. This has resulted in an increased capacity in all segments from blown film extrusion through to printing, laminating and converting.

In particular Wipak Avans and Wipak Kempten now provide additional flexo printing capacities. The state-of-the-art high-performance printing presses allow quick changeovers with short makeready times even for small print runs. Wipak Kempten enables the Group to implement customers' special requests with regard to flexo prints. And all items – from graphic design and consulting to platemaking and the final print – are supplied from a single source. Films can now be printed at the Wipak locations in Finland, Germany, the United Kingdom and France.

Where film printing is concerned, operating local facilities is an important part of customer intimacy and proximity – for both sides. Operating several printshops guarantees availability and supply dependability, as well as saving time and expense. And decentralization enables the companies to source from other group locations in peak periods or in the event of bottlenecks, so that print orders can be executed on time and up-to-spec. All of this enables the Group to respond more flexibly, and therefore serve its customers more promptly.
