P&G announces organisational changes
Proctor & Gamble has announced changes in its organisation due to the pending retirement of chief legal officer, James J. Johnson, 61. He will retire on 1 June, 2008 after 34 years of service. Steven W. Jemison, 56, currently deputy general counsel has been appointed his successor. He joined the company in 1981.
"Jim's service and dedication to our business has been outstanding,” said A.G. Lafley, P&G chairman of the board and chief executive officer.
At the same time Proctor & Gamble has announced that John P. Goodwin, 44, currently vice president - finance and accounting, global health and well-being, has been appointed president - global snacks and pet care, effective immediately. He joined Proctor and Gamble in 1990 and has held a series of financial positions including that of treasurer from 2004 – 2007.
"With his vast experience across our businesses and strong leadership skills, John is a superb choice to lead the investment in and growth of our Snacks and Pet Care businesses," said Lafley.
